Subject: Santa Stopped at the Wrong House

Dear Steve and Shirley, I’m a 40 year old married woman and my husband and I have two children, ages 6 and 8. He’s a fireman so he’s used to dressing as Santa for the neighborhood and the kids come by the fire station and get free pictures with Santa. He and two other guys do it annually. This Christmas, my husband played Santa the day before Christmas Eve and he was at the station all day while I wrapped presents and got the house together for my parents to come visit. My 6 year old son wanted to see Santa for the one hundredth time, so I drove over to the station. My hubby wasn’t there but his co-worker was dressed in the suit, so my son was happy. Later that evening, my husband came home and told me he’d have to work on Christmas Eve and he’d come home on Christmas morning in the Santa suit to surprise the kids. Well, on Christmas morning it got to be 9am and the kids had been up and had breakfast but Santa didn’t show up. I called and Santa didn’t answer. Around 11am, Santa came in and said he got caught up at work. I knew he was lying because I could smell perfume on his Santa suit. There was makeup on the white beard and I could see he wasn’t wearing underwear under those thin Santa pants. I was very embarrassed because I know my mother noticed it too. He played Santa and then tried to rush to the shower but I wouldn’t let him get undressed unless I was in the room, so he slept in the darn suit all day. He got text messages from the same number all day but I didn’t want to snoop through his phone. This ruined my holidays and now he’s not talking to me because I accused him of cheating. Is he being defensive because he’s guilty? Please help.
