Multiple popular frozen meals sold in retailers around the country have been recalled due to the potential presence of a "foreign material" that could pose a choking hazard for consumers.

Nestlé USA issued a voluntary recall for a limited quantity of four varieties of Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER'S frozen meals over the possible presence of "wood-like material," according to to a recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The recall was initiated after consumers contacted the company about the issue, which included at least one potential choking incident.

The recall affects a limited number of batches of the Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli and STOUFFER'S Party Size Chicken Lasagna, all produced between August 2024 and March 2025 and distributed to major U.S. retailers between September 2024 and March 2025. No other products were affected. Find the full list of batch numbers for each affected product on the FDA's website.

"We are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material. We are confident that this is an isolated issue, and we have taken action to address it," the company stated, adding, "The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers.

Anyone who has purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them and to return them to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement.
